Welcome to SpotOn Childcare Connect! Our community guidelines ensure a safe, respectful, and trustworthy environment for families, babysitters, and childcare providers. These guidelines work alongside our Terms of Service to create the best possible experience for everyone.

Child Safety is Our Top Priority
Every action on our platform should prioritize the safety and well-being of children. If you ever have concerns about a child's safety, contact local authorities immediately and notify SpotOn administration.
For All Community Members:
- Verify your identity: Complete all required verification processes honestly and accurately
- Report safety concerns: Immediately report any behavior that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable
- Use secure communication: Keep all initial communications within the SpotOn platform
- Trust your instincts: If something doesn't feel right, don't proceed with the arrangement
๐ฅ Respectful Communication
Communication Standards:
- Be professional: Use respectful language in all communications
- Respond promptly: Reply to messages within 24 hours when possible
- Be clear and honest: Communicate your needs, availability, and expectations clearly
- Respect boundaries: Honor others' communication preferences and schedules
- No harassment: Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior of any kind is prohibited
๐ถ For Babysitters
Professionalism & Reliability:
- Honor commitments: Show up on time for all confirmed bookings
- Communicate changes early: Give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel
- Follow family rules: Respect each family's specific guidelines and routines
- Stay engaged: Focus on the children - limit personal phone/device use during care
- Be prepared: Ask about emergency procedures, allergies, and important contact information
Safety Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Never leave children unsupervised
- Emergency preparedness: Know emergency contacts and procedures
- Activity safety: Only engage in age-appropriate, parent-approved activities
- Visitor policy: Never invite friends or family members without explicit parent permission
- Transportation: Only provide transportation with parent permission and appropriate licensing
Parent Consent Requirements (Ages 12-18):
- Verification process: Complete the parent consent verification before registration
- Parental involvement: Parents must be aware of and approve your babysitting activities
- Communication with parents: Keep your parents informed about your babysitting schedule

Creating a Safe Environment:
- Clear instructions: Provide detailed care instructions, emergency contacts, and house rules
- Age-appropriate expectations: Set realistic expectations based on the babysitter's age and experience
- Safety preparations: Ensure the home environment is safe and provide necessary safety information
- Emergency planning: Leave clear emergency procedures and contact information
- Respectful treatment: Treat young babysitters with patience, kindness, and respect
Fair Practices:
- Timely payment: Pay agreed-upon rates promptly through the platform
- Reasonable requests: Keep requests appropriate for the babysitter's age and experience level
- Return on time: Return when promised or communicate delays immediately
- Positive feedback: Provide honest, constructive reviews to help babysitters improve
๐ข For Childcare Providers
Professional Standards:
- Licensing compliance: Maintain all required licenses and certifications
- Accurate information: Keep availability, capacity, and program information up-to-date
- Professional communication: Respond to inquiries promptly and professionally
- Quality care: Maintain high standards of childcare and safety

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:
- Unsafe practices: Any behavior that endangers child safety
- Discrimination: Discriminating based on race, gender, religion, or other protected characteristics
- Misrepresentation: Providing false information about experience, qualifications, or background
- Platform abuse: Using contact information for purposes outside of childcare arrangements
- Payment circumvention: Arranging payments outside the platform to avoid fees
- Inappropriate relationships: Developing inappropriate personal relationships through the platform
- Privacy violations: Sharing private information about families or children
๐ Reviews and Feedback
Review Guidelines:
- Honest reviews: Provide truthful, constructive feedback based on your experience
- Protect privacy: Don't include personal information like addresses or phone numbers
- Be respectful: Even negative reviews should be professional and specific
- Focus on service: Review the caregiving experience, not personal characteristics
- Update when appropriate: Consider updating reviews if circumstances change
๐จ Reporting and Enforcement
When to Report:
- Safety concerns involving children
- Inappropriate or unprofessional behavior
- Violation of community guidelines
- Suspicious or fraudulent activity
- Discrimination or harassment
Enforcement Actions:
Violations of these guidelines may result in:
- Warning and required correction
- Temporary suspension of account
- Permanent removal from the platform
- Referral to appropriate authorities when necessary
Emergency Situations
In case of emergency, always call 911 first.
For non-emergency safety concerns or to report guideline violations, contact SpotOn administration immediately.
These Community Guidelines are effective as of September 2, 2025 and may be updated periodically.
